Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

claude-notify

Get Slack notifications when Claude CLI is waiting for your input.

Unofficial tool - not affiliated with Anthropic or Claude.

Install

npm install -g claude-notify

Usage

Replace claude with claude-notify in your commands:

# Just run claude-notify (it will start claude for you)
claude-notify

# With optional flags
claude-notify --timeout 30000 --debug

Setup

Set your Slack webhook URL:

export SLACK_WEBHOOK_URL="https://hooks.slack.com/services/YOUR/WEBHOOK/URL"

Or pass it directly:

claude-notify --webhook-url "https://hooks.slack.com/..."

Options

  • --timeout <ms> - Notification delay (default: 15000ms)
  • --webhook-url <url> - Slack webhook URL
  • --disable-notifications - Run without notifications

Requirements

  • Node.js 14+
  • Claude CLI installed
  • Slack webhook URL (create one in your Slack workspace settings)
