Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Auto-save session state on Claude Code rate limit and resume at reset time

Readme

claude-code-resume

Auto-save your Claude Code session when the Max plan limit hits and resume right where you left off — no manual intervention, no lost context.

You've hit your session limit · resets 4:20pm (Asia/Calcutta)
  ↓
claude-code-resume saves session ID + git state
  ↓
Schedules launchd for the reset time
  ↓
4:20pm → launchd runs: claude --resume <session-id>

Uses Claude Code's native --resume flag — the session is restored exactly as you left it.

Install

npx claude-code-resume setup

Then restart Claude Code or run /reload-plugins.

Community marketplace (pending review)

claude plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-community
claude plugin install claude-code-resume@claude-community

How it works

StopFailure(rate_limit) hook fires
  ├─ 1. Saves session_id + git state → ~/.claude/resume/state.json
├─ 2. Parses "resets 4:20pm" from session transcript
  ├─ 3. Logs event to ~/.claude/resume/history.jsonl
  └─ 4. Schedules launchd job
└─ At reset time: claude --resume <session-id>
└─ Claude restores the exact session

Test it

After install, run a simulation to verify everything works:

npx claude-code-resume test

It saves state with a test session ID, logs a history entry, and schedules a 10-second resume via launchd.

CLI

npx claude-code-resume setup # Install to ~/.claude/skills/
npx claude-code-resume test # Simulate rate limit + resume
npx claude-code-resume save # Save current session state
npx claude-code-resume load # View saved state
npx claude-code-resume history # View rate-limit log
npx claude-code-resume clear # Clear saved state + unschedule
npx claude-code-resume status # Check scheduled resume

Data

All data stays local in ~/.claude/resume/:

| File | Purpose | |---|---| | state.json | Last saved session ID + git context | | history.jsonl | Append-only rate-limit event log | | launchd-stdout.log | Launchd output (for debugging) |

Requirements

  • macOS (uses launchd for scheduling)
  • Claude Code installed and authenticated
  • Node.js 18+
