Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Cobalt Intelligence SDK

This package assists in accessing the APIs provided by Cobalt Intelligence.

Getting Started

npm install --save cobalt-int-sdk

View full API documentation here - https://cobaltintelligence.stoplight.io/docs/cobalt-intelligence/b3A6MjAxODIxMDU-secretary-of-state-api

See examples here - https://github.com/cobalt-intelligence/cobalt-int-sdk/blob/master/src/example.ts

This will make the request to the API and handle any long polling or pagination.

Three different APIs are supported:

Secretary Of State API

Secretary of State API

Get your API key here - https://cobaltintelligence.com/secretary-of-state

With your API key, initialize the package:

const sosApi = new SosApi(process.env.cobaltIntApiKey);

Get business details from the SosApi:

const details = await sosApi.getBusinessDetails(businessName, state);

By default the API will search its database for the business. If it doesn't find it, it will query the state directly.

You can also force the API to query live data by adding the liveData parameter. This will ensure you have the most up to date data but takes considerably longer.

const liveData = true;
const details = await sosApi.getBusinessDetails(businessName, state, liveData);

getBusinessDetails

This is allows you to search by business name and state.

const sosApi = new SosApi(process.env.cobaltIntApiKey);

const details = await sosApi.getBusinessDetails('Pizza McPizza LLC', 'missouri');

console.log('details', details);

getBusinessDetailsBySosId

This is allows you to search by the secretary of state id and state.

const sosApi = new SosApi(process.env.cobaltIntApiKey);

const details = await sosApi.getBusinessDetailsBySosId('723472347', 'idaho');

console.log('details', details);

getListBySearchQuery

This function allows you to just get a list of businesses with that searchQuery.

It can accept a liveData parameter.

const sosApi = new SosApi(process.env.cobaltIntApiKey);

const results = await sosApi.getListBySearchQuery('pizza', 'wy');

console.log('Results', results);

searchAllStatesByBusinessName

This function allows you to send a business name and search all available states for instances of this business.

const sosApi = new SosApi(process.env.cobaltIntApiKey);

const results = await sosApi.searchAllStatesByBusinessName('pizza hut llc');

console.log('Results', results);
