Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

codewhale-unicornt

CodeWhale TUI fork by @unicornt — a Claude Code‑style TUI rewrite of Hmbown/CodeWhale v0.8.53. This package is independent from the upstream npm distribution.

The npm wrapper downloads the matching codewhale and codewhale-tui binaries from the fork's GitHub Releases and exposes the codewhale command.

Install

npm install -g codewhale-unicornt

For project-local usage:

npm install codewhale-unicornt
npx codewhale --help

First run

codewhale login --api-key "YOUR_DEEPSEEK_API_KEY"
codewhale doctor
codewhale

Config lives at ~/.codewhale/config.toml.

Supported platforms

Prebuilt binaries from the fork's GitHub Release:

Linux x64 / arm64 / riscv64
macOS x64 / arm64
Windows x64

Unsupported platforms should build from source:
