Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Set up Codified MCP server in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Claude connectors

Readme

codify-setup

Connect Codified — AI-powered user research — to Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Claude connectors in one command.

Quick Start

npx codify-setup@latest

That's it. The wizard will:

  1. Ask how you want to authenticate (browser login or API key)
  2. Verify the connection
  3. Register the Codified local bridge with Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor

Options

npx codify-setup@latest --key cdf_xxx # skip interactive auth
npx codify-setup@latest status # check local MCP client status
npx codify-setup@latest --remove # disconnect from local MCP clients

Pick the setup that matches what you want

  • I use Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor and want the easiest setup Run npx codify-setup@latest and choose Browser login. The wizard signs you in and registers Codified for any supported local clients it finds.
  • I use Claude Desktop or Claude web Add https://api.usercodified.com/mcp as a connector and sign in in the browser. No API key needed.
  • I need manual setup, automation, or a shared credential Create an API key in Codified dashboard → API Keys, then use --key or an Authorization: Bearer ... header.

Auth choices

  • Browser login is best when you're signing in as yourself and want the simplest setup.
  • API key is best when you're configuring MCP manually, scripting setup, or using Codified outside the browser login flow.

The package installs a local stdio bridge for:

  • Claude Code
  • Codex
  • Cursor

The bridge forwards MCP calls to Codified's remote MCP server using your saved local auth. Claude Desktop / Claude web still use the remote connector URL directly.

Claude Desktop

For Claude Desktop or Claude web, you don't need the local bridge. Just:

  1. Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Connectors
  2. Add: https://api.usercodified.com/mcp
  3. Complete the browser login

After setup

Open Claude Code and try:

create a new study

Self-Hosted (Enterprise)

If your organization runs a self-hosted Codified instance:

npx codify-setup@latest --server https://codified.yourcompany.com

Requirements

  • Node.js 18+
  • Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor for local MCP usage
