Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Mongoose

This BlackBerry 10 Cordova Plugin creates a default Mongoose embedded web server that can be started or stopped with commands from JavaScript.

** Tested On **

BlackBerry Q5 10.2.1.1927

Date: 4/17/2014

** Author **

Extension - Peardox

Mongoose - Valenok

Port - Deric Cheng (https://github.com/dericc)

Including the feature in your application

This API can be installed from source or from NPM. Installation from NPM is done through the following:

cordova plugin add cordova-plugin-mongoose

Installation from source is the same but instead of the id ("cordova-plugin-mongoose"), use the file system path to the source plugin folder.

The Plugin API

The Mongoose plugin provides the following API:

var result = community.mongoose.start(options); // Start the server using the defined options (see below)

/*
Result is a javascript object with the following properties - status and error are always returned the rest depend on circumstances

status, // Did the server start - true or false
error, // false or an error message
command_errors // Number of passed options that were invalid
listening_ports, // Port the web server is running on
document_root, // Base path documents are being served from
mongoose_version // Version of Mongoose in this release

*/
community.mongoose.stop();  // Stop the server

This function stops the Mongoose server. It returns a Javascript object with the status set to true or false, depending on whether the stop() function was successfully executed.

Detailed descriptions of what all options do is available at ...

https://github.com/valenok/mongoose/blob/master/UserManual.md

These options should be passed as a JSON object with document_root being the VITAL one to set

e.g.

var options = { 'document_root' : 'shared/images' };

If supplied with an empty object the extension defaults to {home}/data
