Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

create-azeroth

v2.1.0

Published

Scaffold an AzerothJS app - frontend, backend, or fullstack - with the framework's canon wired in: azeroth CLI verbs, eslint rules, typecheck gate, and a working dev loop. Run `npm create azeroth@latest`

Readme

create-azeroth

Scaffold a frontend, backend, or fullstack AzerothJS app with the whole toolchain wired.

npm License: MIT Node >= 22

Part of AzerothJS - the fine-grained, zero-dependency, fullstack TypeScript framework. The scaffolder is the day-one path: two questions at most, then a working app.

What you get

  • The whole canon, wired - the azeroth CLI verbs as your npm scripts, eslint with the azeroth rules, and azeroth-tsc as the typecheck gate.
  • Two questions at most - a name and a shape; opinions live in the templates, not in a questionnaire.
  • CI-safe - pass both answers as arguments and it asks nothing.
  • Zero peers - nothing to install first; npm create azeroth@latest is the whole entry point.

Usage

npm create azeroth@latest my-app

Then:

cd my-app
npm install
npm run dev

Non-interactive (CI) - pass the shape explicitly; options come only from flags:

npm create azeroth@latest my-app -- --template fullstack --tailwind

[!NOTE] npm create azeroth is the canonical entry (it resolves this package, create-azeroth). Do not use npx azeroth to start a project - the bare azeroth name on npm is an unrelated package. The real azeroth CLI comes with your scaffolded app as @azerothjs/cli and runs locally via npx azeroth dev inside it.

Templates

| Template | What it scaffolds | | --- | --- | | frontend | A vite app in .azeroth components: the compiler plugin wired, eslint with the azeroth rules, azeroth-tsc as the typecheck gate. | | backend | An @azerothjs/http server with no build step - Node >= 24 runs the TypeScript source directly, and azeroth dev is node --watch. | | fullstack | application/ + server/ as npm workspaces under one root; npm run dev is ONE process on ONE origin - the server half runs vite inside itself, so dev serves every page through the same mount production does. |

Every template ships the azeroth verbs as its scripts - dev, check, build, test - and nothing else to configure. The two shapes that run TypeScript with no build step (backend, fullstack) require Node >= 24; frontend compiles through vite and runs on Node >= 22.

Options

A curated set per shape, asked as yes/no in interactive runs and passed as flags in CI:

| Option | Templates | What it adds | | --- | --- | --- | | --router | frontend | Pages + nav with the framework's own client-side router - a route table, two pages, and <Link> navigation, zero extra dependencies. | | --tailwind | frontend, fullstack | Tailwind v4 via @tailwindcss/vite (no PostCSS config), with the starter's design tokens mapped to utilities through @theme inline. |

The two compose: --router --tailwind scaffolds the routed app styled with utilities.
