Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

A CLI tool to scaffold Astro projects with Tailwind CSS, React, Shadcn UI, and more pre-configured utilities.

Quick Start

bun create bunestro my-app

CLI Usage

Interactive Mode

Run without flags for a guided setup:

bun create bunestro my-app

The CLI will ask you:

  1. Install dependencies? (yes/no)
  2. Initialize git repository? (yes/no)
  3. Open in editor? (Cursor / VS Code / Skip)

Quick Setup

# Use defaults (install deps, init git)
bun create bunestro my-app -y

# Open in editor after creation
bun create bunestro my-app --cursor
bun create bunestro my-app --vscode

# Skip steps
bun create bunestro my-app --no-install
bun create bunestro my-app --no-git

# Combine options
bun create bunestro my-app -y --cursor

Available Flags

Troubleshooting

Network Issues

# Create without installing dependencies
bun create bunestro my-app --no-install

# Then install manually later
cd my-app
bun install

Git Issues

# Configure git if not already done
git config --global user.name "Your Name"
git config --global user.email "[email protected]"

# Or skip git initialization
bun create bunestro my-app --no-git

Editor Not Opening

Make sure the CLI is installed:

  • VS Code: Install "code" command via Command Palette → "Shell Command: Install 'code' command in PATH"
  • Cursor: Install "cursor" command via Settings → Install CLI
