create-cencori-app
Create a new AI app powered by Cencori in seconds.
Usage
npx create-cencori-app my-projectThat's it. The CLI will:
- Ask you to pick a framework (Next.js or TanStack)
- Scaffold a project with the Cencori SDK already wired up
- Create an API route ready for AI chat
- Set up the right ignored env file for your template (
.env.localfor Next.js,.envfor TanStack) plus.env.example - Install dependencies
Open the project, add a csk_... project key from cencori.com/dashboard, and confirm provider access in Project > Providers. The Cencori key authenticates your app; provider access is what lets the generated app call models such as gpt-4o or claude-sonnet-4.5.
Options
Usage: create-cencori-app <project-name> [options]
Options:
-t, --template <template> Template to use (nextjs or tanstack)
--no-chat Skip the demo chat UI component
--no-install Skip installing dependencies
--api-key <key> Pre-fill your Cencori API key
--dev Start the dev server after scaffolding
-V, --version Output the version number
-h, --help Display helpTemplates
Next.js
Full-stack React with App Router, Vercel AI SDK streaming, and server-side API routes.
npx create-cencori-app my-project --template nextjsTanStack
Lightweight React with Vite, TanStack Query, and the Cencori SDK.
npx create-cencori-app my-project --template tanstackWhat You Get
Next.js projects include app/api/chat/route.ts and .env.local.
TanStack projects include server/index.ts, server/cencori.ts, and an ignored .env so your API key stays on the server and out of git.
API Key Check
When you pass --api-key, the CLI checks https://api.cencori.com/v1/models to confirm the key can authenticate. If Cencori is temporarily unreachable, scaffolding continues and the generated app reads CENCORI_API_KEY from your env file.
