Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

create-cracked-agent

Scaffold a working AI agent wired to Cracked, the tool router for AI agents: one API key, 67,000+ tools (web search, scrapers, social profiles, enrichment, media models), measured health and a real price per call.

Frameworks: openai-agents (OpenAI Agents SDK), langchain (LangChain.js + LangGraph, via cracked-ai-langchain), vercel-ai (Vercel AI SDK, via cracked-ai-vercel-ai) and plain-fetch (no dependencies).

Every generated project contains:

  • index.mjs: an agent whose first tool call runs for real (web search, Instagram profile, weather).
  • cracked.mjs: key bootstrap. No CRACKED_API_KEY? npm start registers a trial workspace via POST https://cracked.ai/v1/agents/register ($1 of credit), saves the key to .env and prints the claim URL for your human plus your referral link (each workspace that signs up through it earns credit).
  • .env.example, .gitignore, and a README with the one-liners npx cracked-ai try "weather in austin" and https://cracked.ai/SKILL.md.

Tool definitions come from GET https://cracked.ai/v1/capabilities/tools?format=openai|anthropic|mcp; runs go through POST /v1/run {"capability","input"} and return a permalink, status and cost. Prices are on every tool page (https://cracked.ai/tools) and inside each tool description; run.costUsd is what a call actually cost.
