Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

CLI to scaffold Expo starter projects

Readme

Start with one command or clone repos

npx create-expo-plate my app
  • Expo Base – Includes:

    • Onboarding flow
    • Paywall integration
    • HeroUI Native components
    • Uniwind (Tailwind CSS for React Native)
  • Expo Full (Convex + Clerk) – Includes everything in Expo Base, plus:

    • Convex setup (backend & database)
    • Clerk authentication

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Some packages will require dev build, you cant run it in expo go, please read Run the app section to properly run it

  • If your app crashes in production, it may be due to missing environment variables in the EAS dashboard. Either hardcode the ENVs or load them from EAS.

  • Don't forget to change "package": "change.pkg.name" in app.json before pushing the initial app version.

  • iPad support is disabled by default. To re-enable it, change "UIDeviceFamily": [1] to [1, 2] in your project settings.

Get Started with project

For convex + clerk please look into this readme:

  1. Install dependencies

    cd expo-plate
    bun install
    
    # Prebuild
    ios:
    npx expo prebuild --platform ios
    
    android:
    npx expo prebuild --platform android
  2. Run the app

    npx expo run:ios --device

    or

    npx expo run:android --device

That's it. Start editing src/app/ to build your product.

Get Started with RevenueCat 💲

  1. Change app bundle in app.json to your app bundle ( that matches revenuecat )

  2. Add your RevenueCat API key & entitlements in config/revenuecat.ts
