Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

create-hola-app

v0.1.1

Published

Scaffold a new Holaboss module (TanStack Start + MCP + SQLite)

create-hola-app

Scaffold a new Holaboss module.

npx create-hola-app my-first-app

Runs an interactive wizard by default (name, display name, git, install). Pass -y to accept all defaults.

Options

| Flag | Description | |------|-------------| | --template <spec> | Local path or remote (github:owner/repo/path) | | --display <name> | Display name (default: Title Case of app name) | | --no-git | Skip git init | | --install / --no-install | Install deps after scaffold (default: prompt) | | -y, --yes | Accept all defaults, skip prompts | | -h, --help | Show help |

Examples

# Interactive
npx create-hola-app

# One-liner
npx create-hola-app my-first-app -y

# Custom display name
npx create-hola-app crm --display "CRM" -y

# Remote template (any giget-supported source)
npx create-hola-app foo --template github:holaboss-ai/hola-boss-apps/_template

How it finds the template

Resolution order:

  1. --template <spec> if provided (local path or github:/gitlab:/bitbucket:/URL)
  2. Bundled ./template/ inside the published npm package
  3. Sibling ../_template/ (dev mode, running from source inside hola-boss-apps/)
  4. Fallback: github:holaboss-ai/hola-boss-apps/_template via giget

Placeholder replacements

| Pattern | Replaced with | |---------|---------------| | module-template | kebab name (e.g. my-first-app) | | Module Template | display name (e.g. My First App) | | "module_ (quoted) | "<snake>_ — MCP tool prefixes only | | slug: "template" | slug: "<kebab>" | | destination: "your-module" | destination: "<kebab>" |

API fields like module_id / module_resource_id are preserved (the quote-prefix anchor protects them).

Local development

cd hola-boss-apps/create-hola-app
npm install
node bin/index.js my-test --template ../_template -y

Or npm link once and then create-hola-app anywhere.

Publishing

cd hola-boss-apps/create-hola-app
npm publish --access public

prepack copies ../_template/ into ./template/ so the tarball ships with the template bundled — no network required for npx create-hola-app.
