create-nodehive-app
Scaffold a NodeHive Next.js frontend project. The
generated project uses the App Router, connects to a Drupal/NodeHive backend
via @nodehive/nextjs, and
ships with visual editing (Puck), OAuth Authorization Code + PKCE auth, i18n
routing, and a Docker-based deployment setup.
Usage
npm create nodehive-app@latest my-frontend
# or
npx create-nodehive-app@latest my-frontendThe CLI asks for the backend URL, NodeHive space, production domain, and deployment target, then:
- copies the starter template (Next.js app, docs, agent skills)
- writes
.env.local,nn/.infrastructure,bitbucket-pipelines.yml,nn-info.yml, andREADME.mdfrom your answers - rewrites
package.jsonto a standalone project depending on the latest published@nodehive/nextjs - installs dependencies and creates the initial git commit
Afterwards, fill in the OAuth secrets in .env.local (see
docs/backend-setup.md in the generated project) and run npm run dev.
Options
create-nodehive-app <directory> [options]
--yes use defaults, no prompts
--no-install skip npm install
--no-git-init skip git init
--backend-url <url> Drupal backend base URL
--space-name <name> NodeHive space machine name
--space-id <id> NodeHive space ID
--default-language <l> default content language
--domain <domain> production domain
--domain-alt <domain> alternative production domain
--server <host> deploy server host
--deploy-path <path> deploy path on the server
--nodehive-version <v> pin the @nodehive/nextjs version
--help show this helpEvery prompt has a matching flag, so fully non-interactive scaffolding works.
With npm create, flags need the -- separator (npm swallows them
otherwise); with npx they are passed directly:
npm create nodehive-app@latest my-frontend -- \
--yes --backend-url https://backend.example.com/ --domain www.example.com
npx create-nodehive-app@latest my-frontend \
--yes --backend-url https://backend.example.com/ --domain www.example.comRequirements
- Node.js >= 20
- A NodeHive/Drupal backend (see the generated
docs/backend-setup.md)
