Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

create-orbital-app

Scaffold a new Orbital Express API project in seconds.

Usage

npx create-orbital-app my-api

Then follow the interactive prompts to configure:

  • Auth providers (Email/Password, Google, Microsoft, Apple, GitHub, Facebook)
  • Email provider (Nodemailer, SendGrid, Mailgun, Postmark, AWS SES)
  • Integrations (Stripe, Twilio, AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, AI)
  • Optional: Admin portal, Socket.IO real-time

What you get

A fully wired Node.js + Express + PostgreSQL + Redis API with:

  • Feature-folder architecture (Django + Rails hybrid)
  • JWT access + refresh token auth
  • Background jobs (Bull queue)
  • i18n support
  • Integration tests with Jest
  • AI agent skills (.claude/skills/)

Getting started after scaffolding

cd my-api
cp config/.env.template config/.env.development
