Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

create-vite-react-tailwind-cli

A simple CLI tool to quickly scaffold a new Vite + React + Tailwind CSS project with all necessary configurations pre-setup.

Installation

Global Installation

npm install -g create-vite-react-tailwind-cli

Local Usage (without installation)

npx create-vite-react-tailwind-cli [path]

Usage

create-vite-react-tailwind-cli [path]

Examples

# Create a project in the current directory
create-vite-react-tailwind-cli .

# Create a project in a specific path
create-vite-react-tailwind-cli my-awesome-app

# Create a project in a nested path
create-vite-react-tailwind-cli ./projects/my-app

What Gets Created

The CLI creates a complete Vite + React + Tailwind CSS project with:

  • ✅ Vite configuration with React plugin
  • ✅ Tailwind CSS configuration
  • ✅ PostCSS configuration with Tailwind and Autoprefixer
  • ✅ React entry point (src/main.jsx) with CSS import
  • ✅ Sample React component (src/App.jsx)
  • ✅ Tailwind CSS directives in src/index.css
  • ✅ All necessary dependencies in package.json
  • ✅ Automatic dependency installation

Getting Started

After creating your project:

# If you created in current directory (.)
npm run dev

# If you created in a subdirectory
cd your-project-name
npm run dev

Then open your browser to the URL shown in the terminal (usually http://localhost:5173).
