Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

deadbranch npm package

This is the npm distribution package for deadbranch, a CLI tool to clean up stale git branches safely.

Installation

npm install -g deadbranch

Or run directly with npx:

npx deadbranch list

What this package does

When you install this package, it automatically downloads the appropriate pre-built binary for your platform from GitHub Releases. Supported platforms:

  • macOS (Intel & Apple Silicon)
  • Linux (x64 & ARM64)
  • Windows (x64)

Alternative installation methods

If npm installation fails, you can install deadbranch using other methods:

Shell installer (Linux/macOS)

curl -sSf https://raw.githubusercontent.com/armgabrielyan/deadbranch/main/install.sh | sh

Cargo (from source)

cargo install deadbranch

Homebrew (macOS/Linux)

brew install armgabrielyan/tap/deadbranch

Usage

deadbranch list              # List stale branches
deadbranch clean             # Delete merged stale branches
deadbranch clean --dry-run   # Preview what would be deleted
