Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

DesignShot

DesignShot is a single-page image generation tool powered by Design.md. It supports editable design references, image references, aspect ratio selection, resolution selection, concurrent generation, and live result updates.

Install & Run

npm install -g designshot

designshot
designshot dev
designshot build
designshot workspace
designshot --port 4000
designshot --no-open

Local development:

pnpm install
pnpm run dev

Default local dev URL: http://localhost:3001.

Configuration

Set an API key in .env.local, or configure it from the top bar in the browser.

Supported generation backends are configured in lib/providers/*.

Workflow

  1. Paste or select a Design.md template.
  2. Write the image prompt.
  3. Choose count, aspect ratio, and resolution.
  4. Optionally upload PNG/JPG reference images.
  5. Generate images and review results. Newer images are shown first.

Runtime Data

  • Session files live in public/generated/{sessionId}/.
  • Global CLI workspace data lives in ~/.designshot/workspace/.
  • Custom Design.md files live under public/designs_zh/ and public/designs_en/.
