Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

CLI tool to pull SKILL.md and agent rules from GitHub into local projects

Readme

⚡ dethz-crawler

Fast, lightweight CLI tool to pull SKILL.md (skills) and rules from GitHub directly into your local project.

Built natively with Bun and TypeScript. Zero external runtime dependencies.

Features

  • 🚀 Zero external runtime dependencies: Uses Bun's native Bun.file, Bun.$, and fetch.
  • 📁 Universal & Multi-Agent formats: Automatically distributes rules and skills into one or multiple AI agents simultaneously:
    • Claude: .claude/rules/, .claude/skills/, and CLAUDE.md (Anthropic Claude Code)
    • Cursor: .cursor/rules/*.mdc and .cursor/skills/ (Cursor IDE)
    • Windsurf: .windsurf/rules/, .windsurf/skills/, and .windsurfrules (Codeium Windsurf)
    • GitHub Copilot: .github/instructions and .github/copilot-instructions.md
    • Cline: .cline/rules/, .cline/skills/, and .clinerules (Cline / Roo Code)
    • Universal Agent: .agent/rules/ and .agent/skills/
    • Antigravity: .agents/rules/, .agents/skills/, and GEMINI.md
  • 🎯 Multi-Agent Sync: Select multiple agents via CLI (-f claude, cursor) or interactive multi-select checkbox prompt.
  • 🧠 Smart Skill Tree Discovery: Automatically discovers any SKILL.md along with its auxiliary files (scripts/, references/, resources/).
  • 🔑 Automatic GitHub Auth: Dynamically checks GITHUB_TOKEN or gh auth token via gh CLI so you never hit GitHub rate limits, even for private repositories.
  • 🔄 One-Command Sync: Re-sync your local skills and rules anytime across all configured agents with dethz-crawler sync.
  • 🔔 Automatic Update Check: Non-blocking background check notifies you when a newer version is published on npm.
  • 🛡️ Safe by Default: Won't overwrite existing local files unless you explicitly pass --force. Includes --dry-run to preview changes safely.

Quick Start

Run directly with bunx:

# Pull all rules and skills from a repository
bunx dethz-crawler pull --repo owner/repo

# Pull for multiple AI agents (e.g. Claude and Cursor simultaneously)
bunx dethz-crawler pull --repo owner/repo -f claude,cursor

# List what is available before pulling
bunx dethz-crawler list --repo owner/repo

Or install globally in your environment:

bun add -g dethz-crawler
