Installation

npm install -g devkits-chmod

Or use without installation:

npx devkits-chmod [args]

Usage

# Show what an octal value means
dk-chmod 755
dk-chmod 644
dk-chmod 600

# Calculate from symbolic permissions
dk-chmod --owner rwx --group r-x --other r-x   # 755
dk-chmod --owner rw --group r --other r        # 644

# Using symbolic notation
dk-chmod -s u+rwx,g+rx,o+rx                     # 755

Output Example

Common patterns:
  777 - rwxrwxrwx (everyone has full access) ⚠️
  755 - rwxr-xr-x (common for directories)
  644 - rw-r--r-- (common for files)
  600 - rw------- (private file)
  400 - r-------- (read-only, owner only)
