Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

DevTodo - Developer's Task Manager CLI

Overview

DevTodo is a simple command-line task manager designed for developers. It allows you to create, list, update, mark, and delete tasks efficiently through the terminal.

Features

  • Initialize the task manager
  • Add new tasks
  • List all tasks or filter by status
  • Update task descriptions
  • Mark tasks as Done, In-progress, or Todo
  • Delete tasks

Installation

To install DevTodo globally, run:

npm install -g devtodo

Usage

Run the following commands to manage your tasks:

Initialize

Before using DevTodo, initialize it with:

devtodo init

Add a Task

devtodo add "Task description"

Example:

devtodo add "Finish the project report"

List Tasks

List all tasks:

devtodo list

List tasks by status:

devtodo list done
devtodo list in-progress
devtodo list todo

Update a Task

devtodo update <task_id> "New task description"

Example:

devtodo update 1 "Submit the project report"

Mark Task Status

Mark as done:

devtodo mark-done <task_id>

Mark as in-progress:

devtodo mark-in-prog <task_id>

Mark as todo:

devtodo mark-todo <task_id>

Delete a Task

devtodo delete <task_id>

Example:

devtodo delete 2
