Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

discord-server-utils

Discord Server Utilities is a Node.js package that extends the functionality of the Discord-Server-Management package. It provides additional utility methods for common tasks in Discord server management, such as sending embedded messages, fetching server stats, and scheduling reminders.

Installation

You can install the package via npm:

npm install discord-server-utils

Usage

First, import the DiscordServerUtils class:

const DiscordServerUtils = require('discord-server-utils');

Then, create an instance of the class by passing in your Discord bot token:

const utils = new DiscordServerUtils('your-bot-token');

Now you can use the utility methods provided by the class:

// Send an embedded message
utils.sendEmbeddedMessage('channel-id', 'Title', 'Description');

// Fetch server stats
const serverStats = await utils.fetchServerStats('guild-id');

// Send role stats
utils.sendRoleStats('channel-id', 'guild-id');

// Schedule a reminder
const job = utils.scheduleReminder(
  'channel-id',
  'Reminder message',
  'schedule-time'
);

// Cancel a scheduled reminder
utils.cancelReminder(job);

Make sure to replace 'your-bot-token', 'channel-id', 'guild-id', and 'schedule-time' with the appropriate values for your use case.

Methods

sendEmbeddedMessage(channelId, title, description)

Sends an embedded message to the specified channel with the given title and description.

fetchServerStats(guildId)

Fetches the server name and member count for the specified guild (server) and returns an object containing this information.

sendRoleStats(channelId, guildId)

Fetches the roles and their member counts for the specified guild (server) and sends an embedded message with the role statistics to the specified channel.

scheduleReminder(channelId, message, scheduleTime)

Schedules a reminder message to be sent to the specified channel at the given schedule time. Returns a job object that can be used to cancel the scheduled reminder.

cancelReminder(job)

Cancels a previously scheduled reminder by passing the job object returned by scheduleReminder.
