Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Doomwiki

Use this MCP server to the Doom Wiki. Every demon, weapon, level, and piece of Doom lore since 1993.

Quick start

npm install
npm run build
node dist/index.js

The server uses stdio, so it can be connected to Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, MCP Inspector, or another compatible MCP client.

Tools at a glance

search_pages: Search the Doom Wiki for pages about demons, weapons, levels, and lore.
get_page: Get a Doom Wiki page as cleaned text.
get_category: List pages in a Doom Wiki category.

Limits and privacy

This project is intentionally narrow. It should be treated as a practical helper, not a complete certification or security audit. Check the implementation and the returned data before using it with sensitive material. No credentials are required unless the project explicitly says otherwise.

Try it

After building, connect the server through your MCP client. The repository root also contains smoke-test.mjs for projects covered by the shared harness. A typical tool call starts with search_pages.

Licence — no paywall

Every tool in this package is free: no licence key, no premium tier, no hosted licence gateway. The paywall machinery this repo once carried (per-tool licence checks and paid hosted endpoints) was removed repo-wide on 2026-10-17. Nothing that this package installs or calls asks you to pay.
