Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

MCP server for AI-powered book outlining, story structure analysis, character development, and world-building. Works with any MCP-compatible client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, etc).

Tools

generate_book_outline

Generate a chapter-by-chapter book outline with story beats, scene goals, and pacing notes. Supports 6 structures: Three-Act, Hero's Journey, Save the Cat, Seven-Point, Kishōtenketsu, and Nonfiction Framework.

analyze_story_structure

Evaluate an existing outline for structural completeness — checks for missing beats, pacing issues, act balance, and genre-specific obligations. Returns a score with fix suggestions.

generate_character_profiles

Create detailed character profiles with arc blueprints, motivation ladders (want vs. need vs. lie), conflict webs, and role-specific guidance for protagonists, antagonists, mentors, and more.

suggest_plot_complications

Generate escalating plot complications tuned to your genre and story phase. Each complication forces a character choice and raises stakes without repetition.

world_building

Generate detailed world-building frameworks: magic systems (using Sanderson's Laws), technology impact matrices, political faction grids, cultural details, and more.
