Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

dsh-about-settings-pinned

A DeepSeek Harness profile bundle that adds an 关于 (About) settings page. The entry is pinned to the very bottom of the settings sidebar (order: Number.MAX_SAFE_INTEGER), so sections added later by other plugins always render above it.

The page shows the current harness version, npm package name, install path, and the automatic-update note.

How it works

  • cordis.patch.yml inserts one composition row (about-settings) that loads this package as a profile layer.
  • lib/index.js (host) registers an exact HTTP route /_dsh/about/version. The handler derives the npm install root from a live client-module path (clientModules.clientPath) and reads @deepseek-ai/dsh/package.json (or a sibling dsh package) through the fs service — no hardcoded user paths (one last-resort fallback included).
  • lib/client.js (browser, window.__ModuleLoader__ bundle) registers into the settings.section slot with id about, label 关于, and the maximum sort order, then fetches the version route on open.

Compatibility

Built for dsh 0.2.0-rc.2. The declared peers are @deepseek-ai/cordis@^4.0.4 and @deepseek-ai/dsh-client-ui-settings@^0.2.0-rc.2.

dsh 0.2.0 introduced a peerDependency compatibility gate: a plugin whose @deepseek-ai/dsh* peer ranges do not satisfy the running dsh --version is denied at profile startup (it is skipped silently — no crash, the plugin just disappears). 0.1.0 declared @deepseek-ai/dsh-client-runtime@^0.1.0-rc.6; that package was removed in 0.2.0 (its role split into dsh-client-ui-slots / dsh-client-store), so 0.1.1 drops it.

Install

As a profile bundle (persistent across restarts):

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-about-settings-pinned
# restart dsh web to activate

Or from a local checkout:

dsh plugin --profile web add /path/to/dsh-about-settings-pinned

The user's own data ($DSH_HOME settings, credentials, sessions, plugins) is never touched.

Uninstall

dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-about-settings-pinned

Publish

npm pack --dry-run # inspect the published file set
npm publish # requires an npm account (npm login)
