Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

dsh-plugin-model-modalities

v0.1.2

A Models settings companion page listing every model's input modalities in one place, editable for both LLM adapter families

dsh-plugin-model-modalities

A Models settings companion page for DeepSeek Harness (dsh): it lists every configured model's accepted request modalities in one place, across both LLM adapter families (llm-deepseek and llm-pi-ai), and lets you edit them.

What it does

  • Adds a Modalities / 多模态 section to the Models settings page (order: 20).
  • One row per configured model: provider, adapter family, model id, context window / output limit, and two checkboxes (Text / Image).
  • Editing writes the field the owning adapter actually reads: inputModalities for llm-deepseek, input for llm-pi-ai — so the page stays correct without normalizing the two families into one name.
  • Handles the edge states explicitly: inherited (undeclared) declarations, hand-written values the page cannot present, and legacy empty arrays (with a one-click "set to text" repair).
  • Bilingual UI (English / 中文), search + adapter-family filter.

Requirements

  • A running DeepSeek Harness web profile (dsh --profile web).
  • The llm-deepseek and/or llm-pi-ai provider namespaces configured (the page reads the provider directory from remote.llm and the documents from remote.settings).

Install

# from npm (recommended)
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-plugin-model-modalities

# from a local checkout (to hack on it)
dsh plugin --profile web add ./plugins/model-modalities

# pin / roll back to a version
dsh plugin --profile web add [email protected]

Then boot the profile and open the Models settings page — the Modalities / 多模态 section is there.

Update / uninstall

dsh plugin --profile web update dsh-plugin-model-modalities
dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-plugin-model-modalities

Development

pnpm install
pnpm --filter dsh-plugin-model-modalities run build # emits index.js / invariant.js / client.js
pnpm --filter dsh-plugin-model-modalities run typecheck
pnpm --filter dsh-plugin-model-modalities run test

A plugin is a dsh.bundle-declaring package: its cordis.patch.yml inserts one Loader row and its dsh.client manifest hands the browser half to the web module graph. See the repository root for the monorepo layout.

Compatibility

Built against @deepseek-ai/*@0.1.2-alpha.5 (cordis@^4.0.2). The browser half resolves its platform modules (react, cordis, the dsh-client-* slot and primitive layers) from the host module table, so patch-level drift of the host is tolerated; breaking host changes may require a new release of this plugin.
