Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

TuneTune for DeepSeek Harness: train, test, and improve small models with your Agent, with a workbench beside the conversation.

Readme

Work with your Agent to train, test, and improve small models for your own tasks.

Quick start

Requirements: macOS / Linux, Python 3.10+; Windows via WSL2

Send this to your Agent:

Install TuneTune following https://github.com/nanshine/tunetune/blob/main/INSTALL.md

Then, in the folder where you want to start a study, try a request like:

Use TuneTune to train a model that names Pokémon from silhouettes in the anime’s “Who’s That Pokémon?” segment.

Already installed? Start with the request. Prefer to install it yourself? See Installation.

How it works

Tell your Agent what you want the model to do. It looks into the task, compares approaches, and proposes a plan with estimated time, downloads, and costs for you to review.

It then prepares test examples, measures a simple starting model, and improves it through rounds of experiments. Follow the plans, experiments, and results in the workbench, and try your own inputs to see how well the model works for you. Your Agent asks for your judgment when reference answers need review or the budget or direction needs to change.

Research workflow: you describe the need, approve the plan and budget, review reference answers, and finally try the model; the ghost investigates and writes the proposal, prepares samples and measures a baseline, then plans, runs and analyzes experiment rounds until it verifies and delivers a model; at any time you can change the goal, question scores or suggest a method.

| Skill | Role | |---|---| | tunetune-init | Set up the study, understand the task, research approaches, and agree on a plan and budget. | | build-evaluation | Prepare test examples and scoring, check that the tests are useful, and measure a starting model. | | run-experiments | Try improvements in rounds, compare results, and verify that the final model runs locally. | | research-workspace | Keep and display study records so your Agent can continue from earlier work. |

When the goal is met, the budget runs out, or no worthwhile next experiment remains, your Agent explains the results, limitations, and recommended next step.
