Prime Numbers Generator
A simple function that generates prime numbers between a given range.
It is based on the approach by Eratosthenes of Cyrene, known as the Sieve of Eratosthenes.
Usage
In a web application, import and use the function like so:
import { generate } from 'eratosthenes-primes'
generate(1, 100) // Returns array of primes between 1 and 100
In Node / server-side JS:
const primes = require('eratosthenes-primes')
primes.generate(1, 100)
In the browser:
<script src="http://hop.ie/eratosthenes-primes/js/browser/primes.js"></script>
<script>
const result = primes.generate(1, 100)
// Result contains array of prime numbers
</script>
Performance considerations
This is a fun demo and there are many faster approaches.
While this is pretty fast for light use, it gets noticeably slower beyond a target of 500,000 and gets exponentially slower for higher numbers.
