Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Performance-minded React linting rules for ESLint

Readme

eslint-plugin-react-perf-x

CI npm

Performance-minded React linting rules for ESLint (motivated by esamatti's post "React.js pure render performance anti-pattern").

This is a maintained fork of eslint-plugin-react-perf by Charles Vazac and contributors. It keeps the same rules and rule IDs (react-perf/*), and targets current ESLint: flat config only, ESLint 9 and 10, and bundled TypeScript types. See the GitHub releases for what changed compared to the original.

Installation

npm i -D eslint-plugin-react-perf-x

| Requirement | Supported versions | | ----------- | ------------------ | | ESLint | 9, 10 | | Node.js | 22 or newer | | Config | flat config only |

Add the plugin to your eslint.config.js:

import reactPerfPlugin from 'eslint-plugin-react-perf-x';

export default [
  {
    plugins: { 'react-perf': reactPerfPlugin },
    rules: {
      'react-perf/jsx-no-new-object-as-prop': 'error'
    }
  }
];

Migrating from eslint-plugin-react-perf

Swap the package and the import. Rule IDs, rule options and the configs.flat.* aliases are the same:

npm rm eslint-plugin-react-perf
npm i -D eslint-plugin-react-perf-x
-import reactPerfPlugin from 'eslint-plugin-react-perf';
+import reactPerfPlugin from 'eslint-plugin-react-perf-x';

List of supported rules

Configuration

As of v3.3.0, each eslint-plugin-react-perf rule supports configuration to control whether native elements (lower case first letter React components) are ignored.

With this configuration, all native elements are ignored for this rule:

{
  "react-perf/jsx-no-new-object-as-prop": [
    "error",
    {
      "nativeAllowList": "all"
    }
  ]
}

With this configuration, the "style" attribute is ignored for native elements for this rule:

{
  "react-perf/jsx-no-new-object-as-prop": [
    "error",
    {
      "nativeAllowList": ["style"]
    }
  ]
}

Recommended

This plugin exports a recommended configuration that enforce React good practices.

To enable this configuration add the following to your eslint.config.js:

import reactPerfPlugin from 'eslint-plugin-react-perf-x';

export default [
  reactPerfPlugin.configs.recommended
];

The rules enabled in this configuration are:

All

This plugin also exports an all configuration that includes every available rule.

import reactPerfPlugin from 'eslint-plugin-react-perf-x';

export default [
  reactPerfPlugin.configs.all
];

configs.flat.recommended and configs.flat.all are also exported as aliases of the configurations above, for drop-in compatibility with eslint-plugin-react-perf.

With defineConfig, you can also register the plugin under another name and extend its configurations by string; the rule IDs follow your name:

import { defineConfig } from 'eslint/config';
import reactPerfPlugin from 'eslint-plugin-react-perf-x';

export default defineConfig([
  {
    plugins: { perf: reactPerfPlugin },
    extends: ['perf/recommended'],
    rules: { 'perf/jsx-no-jsx-as-prop': 'error' }
  }
]);

TypeScript

The package ships type definitions, so the plugin and its configurations typecheck in eslint.config.ts.

eslintrc

.eslintrc files are not supported. Use flat config (eslint.config.js); see the ESLint migration guide.
