Turn Even Realities G2 simulator captures into real-looking AR glasses demos: black background → true transparency, optional background compositing and waveguide glow. Images and video. ffmpeg bundled.
npx even-demo-kit record -d 10 # sim → pixel-perfect alpha video (no screen recording)
npx even-demo-kit process demo.mov # → demo.transparent.webm (VP9 + alpha)
npx even-demo-kit process demo.mov --bg cafe # → composite over a stock scene
npx even-demo-kit preview --host # live phone preview: camera + sim overlayimport { processFile, record } from "even-demo-kit";
const { output } = await processFile("demo.mov", { bg: "#101820", glow: 0.4 });
const take = await record({ duration: 10, bg: "cafe" });record polls the simulator's automation API (--automation-port 9898)
straight into an alpha video. preview overlays the sim's live output on your
camera in the browser (--host adds a QR + self-signed HTTPS for phones).
--bg accepts colors, files, or a stock scene: dusk, office, street, cafe,
loft, park, night, studio.
Why it works: waveguide displays are additive — they can't render black — so alpha := luminance reproduces exactly how the UI looks on glass.
