Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Redux Accounts • Build Status

For use with react + react-redux apps.

Components

  • login
  • logout
  • register
  • forgot password

Reducers

The view reducer is designed to hold the common states of a view.

State

loading | enabled [success] | disabled | pending | error [message]

Actions

init | pending | success | error

The forms reducer is a composition of view reducers to facilitate common application account forms. It's optional but may save you some time writing boilerplate. At the very least it's a good example of how the view reducer and actions can be composed in your app.

State

acceptInvite : ViewState,
register: ViewState,
forgotPassword: ViewState,
login: ViewState,
publicRegister: ViewState,
logout: ViewState,

Actions

login <view action> | logout <view action> | acceptInvite <view action> | register <view action> | publicRegister <view action> | forgotPassword <view action> | error

Getting started

Install Dependencies

This guide assumes you are already using react and react-redux. Some of the functionality provided also depends on redux-thunk.

Use reducer

Todo: explain

// load all possible forms into state

import {
    createStore,
    applyMiddleware,
    combineReducers
} from 'redux';
import thunk from 'redux-thunk';
import accountsReducer from 'redux-accounts/state/forms';
import appReducer './reducers'

const store = createStore(
  combineReducers({
      accounts: accountsReducer,
      app: appReducer,
  }),
  applyMiddleware(thunk)
);

...

Use selectors

// App.js

import {
  getAuthLoading,
  getAuthPending
  getAuthenticated,
  getAuthFailedAttempts,
  getAuthError,
  getRole,
  getAuthUpdatePasswordSuccess,
  getAuthResetPasswordSuccess,
  getAuthRegisterSuccess,
  getUser
} from 'firebase-redux-accounts/dist/reducer';

...

export default connect(
  (state) => {
    return {
      user: getUser(state.auth),
      role: getRole(state.auth),
      authenticated: getAuthenticated(state.auth),
      authLoading: getAuthLoading(state.auth)
    }
  },
  (dispatch) => {
    return {dispatch};
  })(App);

Use pre-built components

import {
  Login,
  Logout,
  Register,
  ForgotPassword,
} from 'firebase-redux-accounts/dist/components';

Dispatch actions / effects directly

import {
  authPending,
  authError,
  loginSuccess,
  logoutSuccess,
  registerSuccess,
  resetPasswordSuccess,
  updatePasswordSuccess,
  clearError
} from 'firebase-redux-accounts/dist/actions';

import {
  resetPassword,
  register,
  login,
  logout
} from 'firebase-redux-accounts/dist/effects';

Invitations

This package has support joerex/firebase-users which provides lambda function that can be deployed to your firebase project and used for invitation functionality.

This api enables actions you can use:

  • acceptInvite
  • adminRegister
  • validateEmail

In addition to the lambda function and env variable is necessary when building your app:
