Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Formdat-js

Module designed to receive any type of date format, and returns it in YYYYY/MM/DD format

NPM Installation

npm i formdat-js

How to use it

Try any date, even within phrases. You only need to indicate the order of appearance of the Year (y), Month (m) and Day (d) of the date you want to format.

| Input | Output | | ----------- | ----------- | | Formdat.ymd('2022Sep15') | '2022/09/15' | | Formdat.ydm('2022.09.15') | '2022/09/15' | | Formdat.dmy('15, 9, 2022') | '2022/09/15' | | Formdat.dym('15202209') | '2022/09/15' | | Formdat.mdy('On September 15, 2022') | '2022/09/15' | | Formdat.myd('2 - 22 - 15') | '2022/02/15' |

Also in other languages

| Input | Output | | ----------- | ----------- | | Formdat.dmy('28 de octubre de 2020', 'es') | '2020/10/28' | | Formdat.mdy('octubre 28 de 2021', 'es') | '2021/10/28' | | Formdat.dmy('23, abr., 2022', 'es') | '2022/04/23' |

Supported formats

Supports any date format separated by spaces, commas, dots, dashes or slashes.

Also dates without separation between elements. In the case of a date joined by numeric values only, they must have a format of 4 digits for the year, 2 digits for the month and 2 digits for the day.

Dates between the year 1000 and the year 2999 are accepted. If a date received contains a year format of less than 4 digits, it will be interpreted as belonging to the year 2000.

  • Example: Input Formdat.mdy('February 17, 27') --> Output = '2027/02/17'

Examples of formats not currently supported

  • [ ] YYYYMD
  • [ ] Dates lower than year 1000 or higher than year 2999
  • [ ] Input with more than 3 elements that may be part of a date (Example: turned 24 on September 15, 2022)

Languages currently supported

| Language | As a parameter | | ----------- | ----------- | | English | en | | Spanish | es |
