Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Get specific property of nested object, without the need for checking each step separately.

Documentation

getNestedProperty

Returns nested property by path.

Parameters

  • data [Object] Data object in which we will be looking for property. (optional, default window)
  • path [(string | Array<string>)] Dot separated path to the nested property inside object. If array is used, it will be merged together as a single path. (optional, default '')
  • default_value [Any] Returned if property at given path is not defined.

Examples

var data = {aaa: {bbb: 'ccc'}};
getNestedProperty(data, 'aaa.bbb');       // --> 'ccc'
getNestedProperty(data, ['aaa', 'bbb']);  // --> 'ccc'

Returns Any Found property of the object or undefined if not found.

deleteNestedProperty

Deletes nested property by path in object.

Parameters

Returns Any Original object with removed property.

Returns property of source object, if possible. Otherwise returns undefined.
