Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Install

Requires Node.js >= 18 and Godot 4.x.

npx godot-catalyst --install-addon /path/to/your/godot-project

This installs the Godot plugin into your project's addons/ folder. Open Godot, go to Project > Project Settings > Plugins, enable Godot Catalyst.

Activate

The first install starts a 7-day trial. To activate a purchased license:

npx godot-catalyst --activate <your-license-key>

License keys arrive by email after purchasing at portal.fireal.dev. Each license activates on up to 3 machines.

Bought on itch.io?

Copy your download key from your itch.io library and run:

npx godot-catalyst --activate-itch <your-itch-download-key>

The first activation mints a license tied to your itch account. Further activations on other machines reuse the same license (still 3 machines total).

Deactivate

To deactivate a machine (freeing a slot):

npx godot-catalyst --deactivate

Most MCP clients share the same config format:

  • Command: npx
  • Args: ["godot-catalyst"]
  • Env: GODOT_PROJECT_PATH set to your Godot project root

Enable LSP/DAP (optional, for code intelligence and debugging)

In Godot: Editor > Editor Settings > Network > Language Server > Enable (port 6005) and Debug Adapter > Enable (port 6006).

Some MCP clients can't handle 240+ tools. Set GODOT_TOOL_MODE to limit:
