govera-cli

Official command-line client for the Govera public API.

Govera is an AI-powered governance preparation platform for public agencies — cities, counties, school districts, and other governing boards. This CLI queries Govera's public, read-only API: service status, product info, platform capabilities, developer guides, and the OpenAPI specification.

No API key or authentication is required. The API is static JSON served over plain HTTPS.

Install

Run it without installing anything:

npx govera-cli status

Or install it globally:

npm install -g govera-cli
govera status

Flags

On an HTTP error or network failure, the CLI prints a clear message to stderr and exits with code 1. application/problem+json error bodies (RFC 9457) are parsed and their title/detail fields are shown.

Development

npm install
npm test

The CLI has no runtime dependencies — it uses Node's built-in global fetch (Node >= 18). vitest is a dev-only dependency for the test suite.
