Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Greet-Dev CLI

A simple, elegant CLI tool to greet developers with motivational quotes. Built with Node.js and pnpm.

Installation

You can use npx for a quick start:

npx greet-dev
npx greet-dev -n Alice
npx greet-dev -n Bob -t neon

Or install globally:

npm install -g greet-dev
greet-dev
greet-dev -n Alice
greet-dev -n Bob -t neon

Usage

  • Default greeting: greet-dev
  • Personalized greeting: greet-dev -n Alice
  • Themed greeting: greet-dev -n Bob -t neon
  • Choose category : greet-dev -c productivity -n Tony -t midnight
  • Show version: greet-dev --version
  • Show help: greet-dev --help

Available Themes

  • dark (default): Cyan name, white quote, blue border.

  • light: Blue name, black quote, gray border.

  • neon: Magenta name, green quote, yellow border.

  • midnight: Blue-violet name, light-grey quote, midnigth border.

  • Explore data/themes.js file to know more.
