Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

harness-detect

Detect which AI agent harness is running your code — structured identity with evidence, not just a boolean.

This name is an alias. The canonical package is ai-agent-detect — install that:

npm install ai-agent-detect

Why the alias: "AI agent detection" collides with the server-side meaning (classifying AI crawlers in web traffic). This library answers the inverse, inside-out question — which coding-agent harness (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, …) is executing this process — and "harness" is the term that says so without ambiguity. This name will either re-export the canonical package or continue pointing at it.
