Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

HarnessForge npm installer

Install HarnessForge with:

npm install -g harnessforge

The package is a thin launcher. On first use, it downloads the matching binary from the official HarnessForge GitHub Release and verifies that archive against the release SHA-256 checksum before extracting it. The npm install step needs no lifecycle-script approval. The first command can take a few seconds. The package does not include the Go application source or provider credentials.

Supported targets are macOS (amd64, arm64), Linux (amd64, arm64), and Windows (amd64). Node.js 18 or newer and tar are required. Modern supported Windows includes tar.exe.

Run harnessforge version after installation, then harnessforge init in your project. To update, run npm update -g harnessforge. To remove it, run npm uninstall -g harnessforge.
