Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Hello FastMCP

A simple FastMCP tool that returns "Hello FastMCP!" when called.

Installation

npm install hello-fastmcp

Usage

Starting the server

npx hello-fastmcp

Or directly with Node.js:

node -e "import('./server.js').then(module => { module.default.start({ transportType: 'httpStream', httpStream: { port: 4000 } }); })"

The server will start on http://localhost:4000/mcp

You can also specify a custom port with the PORT environment variable:

PORT=4000 npx hello-fastmcp

Using the tool

Once the server is running, you can connect to it using any MCP-compatible client and call the helloFastMCP tool which requires no parameters and returns "Hello FastMCP!".
