Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Installation

npm install -g @testany/agent-chatter

Quick Start

# Check installed AI CLI tools
agent-chatter status

# Manage registered agents
agent-chatter agents list
agent-chatter agents scan
agent-chatter agents verify

# Start interactive REPL
agent-chatter

# Generate example configuration
agent-chatter config-example

Debug Mode

Enable debug logging to troubleshoot issues:

# Using CLI flag
agent-chatter --debug

# Using environment variable
AGENT_CHATTER_DEBUG=1 agent-chatter

# Redirect debug logs to file (debug goes to stderr)
agent-chatter --debug 2>debug.log

Debug logs show Core service activities including:

  • Agent verification process
  • Message routing decisions
  • Process spawning details

Requirements

  • Node.js >= 20.0.0
  • At least one supported AI CLI installed:
    • Claude Code (claude)
    • OpenAI Codex (codex)
    • Google Gemini CLI (gemini)
