Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Heurist MCP Installer

CLI tool to install Heurist MCP tools into compatible clients.

Installation

npx -y heurist-mcp-cli
# or
bunx heurist-mcp-cli
# or
pnpm dlx heurist-mcp-cli

Usage

Install a Tool

npx -y heurist-mcp-cli <tool-url-or-id> <api-key> [client]
  • <tool-url-or-id>: The full URL of the Heurist MCP tool, or just the short tool ID (e.g., 0f1234de).
  • <api-key>: Your API key for verification.
  • [client] (optional): Specify a client (claude, windsurf, cursor, vscode, vscode-insiders). If omitted, you will be prompted to select one from the detected clients.

Example:

npx -y heurist-mcp-cli 0f1234de your_api_key_here cursor

List Detected Clients

npx -y heurist-mcp-cli list

Lists clients where the tool can be installed.

Development

  1. Clone the repo.
