Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

hilfling-gui

This project is Fotogjenens own custom gui library. It is exported as an NPM library, and can be downloaded and used in other frontend projects.

This project uses React Typescript to write components and Storybook as component documentation.

Important file extenstion naming

  • css modules MUST be named <component-name>.module.css
  • The projects src/ folder CANNOT contain ANY .js files

Local setup

  1. Clone reposetory
  2. npm install
  3. npm run storybook

Useage in other projects

  1. npm i hilfling-gui
  2. import as import {Component} from 'hilfling-gui/lib'

Use as any other npm component library

Publish NPM package

  1. Write your new component - figure out how from our wiki
  2. Export the component in the index.ts file inside the src folder
  3. npm login med fotogjengen-web bruker
  4. npm version patch eller npm version <version number>, sistnevnte for breaking changes
  5. npm publish
