Quick start

npm install -g hill-revit-mcp
claude mcp add hill-revit -- hill-revit-mcp

That's it. The MCP server is installed. Now install the Revit plugin (step 2 below).

You need two things

1. This MCP server — what you just installed. Runs in Node.js, connects Claude to Revit.

2. The Revit plugin — a C# add-in that runs inside Revit. Get it from the same repo:

Build it on Windows (requires Revit 2024):

git clone https://github.com/hilldevelopment/hill-revit-mcp.git
cd hill-revit-mcp
dotnet build Hill.Revit.sln -p:RevitVersion=2024
cd deploy
.\install.ps1

Then open Revit → Hill tab → Server Toggle → done.
