Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Homebridge plugin allows you to control your Braun Atelier R4 or CC4 receiver

Homebridge Atelier

Build and Lint License

This Homebridge plugin allows you to control your Braun Atelier R4 or CC4 receiver. Supports on/off, volume, mute, loudness, input selection, play, pause, stop, fast-forward and rewind.

Only devices from the first generation are supported (R4/1 and CC4/1), devices from the second generation do not support getting the device's status.

Usage

The device running Homebridge needs to be connected directly to the Atelier device using an appropriate serial cable. The plugin communicates with the receiver using control sequences, see docs.md for more information.

The plugin exposes a TV accessory, and two linked accessories: a fan (to set the volume) and a switch (to toggle loudness). In the Home app, the TV accessory can be used to toggle the device on or off and select an input channel; additionally, using the remote widget in the iOS control center, some remote keys are supported ( play, pause, stop, fast-forward and rewind).

Devices need to be manually added to HomeKit, even if HomeBridge has already been added. Check the log after activating and configuring this plugin.

Configuration

The easiest way to use this plugin is to use homebridge-config-ui-x. To configure manually, add the AtelierRs232HomebridgePlugin platform in your config.json file. Then, add the name and path for the devices to monitor:

{
"platform": "AtelierRs232HomebridgePlugin",
  "devices": [
    {
      "name": "The name of the device, e.g. 'Atelier R4'",
      "model": "The model of the device, e.g. 'Atelier R4/1'. Optional.",
      "path": "The path to the serial port connected to the device, e.g. '/dev/ttyUSB0' when using an USB converter on Linux",
      "maxVolume": "The volume set via HomeKit will be a percentage of the maximum volume given here. E.g., for a maximum volume of '60', setting the volume in Homekit to 50(%) will set the device to a volume of 30."
    }
  ]
}
