Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Homebridge plugin for Mammotion mowers (Luba, Yuka) using PyMammotion

Readme

Homebridge Mammotion

license-mit

Provides Homebridge control for Mammotion mowers using the PyMammotion stack used by the Home Assistant integration.

This plugin was heavily informed by the Mammotion Home Assistant work from mikey0000 and by the Reddit guide showing Mammotion Yuka zone selection in Apple Home.

Features

  • Discovers Mammotion mower devices from your account
  • Exposes each mower as a Matter robotic vacuum when Matter is available and enabled in Homebridge
  • Falls back to a HomeKit Switch when Matter is unavailable
  • Supports start, pause, dock, and cancel actions
  • Exposes battery status, charging state, and low-battery state

Requirements

  • Node.js 20+
  • Homebridge 1.8+
  • Python 3.10+

The plugin creates a managed virtual environment at .python-bridge-venv and installs a pinned pymammotion dependency automatically.

Install

npm i -g homebridge-mammotion

Configure

{
  "platforms": [
    {
      "platform": "Mammotion",
      "name": "Mammotion",
      "email": "[email protected]",
      "password": "your-password",
      "pollIntervalSeconds": 15,
      "enableMatterRvc": true,
      "offCommand": "pause",
      "deviceFilter": ["Luba-12345678"]
    }
  ]
}
  • email / password: Mammotion account credentials. Some accounts use an account number instead of an email address.
  • pollIntervalSeconds: Poll interval in seconds. Supported range: 5 to 120.
  • enableMatterRvc: Enable Matter robotic vacuum accessories when your Homebridge runtime supports Matter.
  • offCommand: Action used when the fallback switch turns off. Allowed values: pause, dock, cancel.
  • deviceFilter: Optional allow-list of exact device names to expose.

Optional Python override:

{
  "pythonPath": "/opt/homebrew/bin/python3.12"
}

Optional area-name fallbacks when Mammotion does not return area metadata:

{
  "areaNameFallbacks": {
    "Luba-VAFFT58A": ["Front Lawn", "Back Lawn"],
    "*": ["Zone 1", "Zone 2"]
  }
}

Development

npm install
npm run build

Notes

  • A dedicated Mammotion account shared to your mower devices is the safest setup.
  • BLE-only control is not implemented.
  • Matter robotic vacuum mode depends on a Matter-capable Homebridge runtime with Matter enabled.
