homebridge-nanoleaf-scenes

Exposes the scenes/effects of your Wi-Fi Nanoleaf devices as switches in HomeKit.

⚠️ Wi-Fi only. This plugin talks to Nanoleaf devices over the local Wi-Fi OpenAPI (port 16021). Thread-only devices (Matter over Thread) are not supported — they do not expose the local HTTP API. Matter over Wi-Fi devices that still expose the OpenAPI (e.g. NL72K1) do work.

• Each scene becomes a Switch — radio behaviour: turning one on turns the others off.
• Automatic discovery of panels and pairing right from the settings screen (Custom UI).
• Compatible with Homebridge 1.8+ and 2.0. No runtime dependencies (uses Node's built-in fetch, Node ≥ 18).

Installation

Via the Homebridge UI (search for nanoleaf scenes) or:

npm install -g homebridge-nanoleaf-scenes

Configuration

Open the plugin's Settings in the Homebridge UI and use Discover panels → Pair → pick scenes. The token is obtained and saved automatically.

You can also edit config.json manually:

• Empty authToken → the plugin pairs on its own (hold the panel's power button ~5-7s before restarting).
• Empty scenes → exposes all scenes; or list the names you want to expose.

Releasing (maintainers)

1. Bump the version (npm version <patch|minor|major>) and update CHANGELOG.md.
2. Push the tag and create a Release on GitHub with the version notes.
3. The workflow publishes to npm automatically.
