Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

:warning: Version 2.x+ of this plugin only works with IntelliCenter version 1.064 and higher. If you are on an older version of IntelliCenter firmware, it is recommended that you upgrade your IntelliCenter firmware. If you prefer to remain on older IntelliCenter firmware, you should install the latest 1.x version of this plugin.

Homebridge Pentair IntelliCenter Plugin

verified-by-homebridge NPM Version

This plugin integrates with the Pentair IntelliCenter panel to expose its features to HomeKit/Siri. It connects directly to your IntelliCenter panel, so using a separate pool controller (i.e. nodejs-poolController) is not required. By design, only the "Bodies", heaters, and circuits that are marked as "Features" in IntelliCenter will be exposed as switches in HomeKit. This avoids unnecessary/redundant HomeKit configuration.

As of version 2.1.0, pump speed can be controlled like a Fan controller. This requires that circuits or bodies be attached to a pump setting in IntelliCenter. The rotation speed maps to IntelliCenter's min/max speed or flow settings. For example, if IntelliCenter's min RPM is 1,000 and the max is 3,400, the circuits speed settings will map as follows:

  • 0%: 1,000 RPMs
  • 50%: 1,700 RPMs
  • 100%: 3,400 RPMs

:warning: Your installer may have configured you min RPMs too low for flow It is highly recommended that you check double check your pump configuration to avoid pump damage.

Also, along with the Homebridge Alexa plugin, this plugin can be used to expose your IntelliCenter circuits to Alexa. As far as I know, this is currently the only Alexa integration as the Alexa skill for IntelliCenter is no longer available.

Troubleshooting

  • Connection Errors
    • Try first rebooting your IntelliCenter panel, then reboot Homebridge.
    • Ensure your IntelliCenter has a DHCP reservation or static IP address.
