Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

HOT - Multi-account GitHub Copilot plugin for OpenCode

Readme

HOT — High On Tokens

OpenCode plugin that lets you use GitHub Copilot through any account. Add multiple accounts and switch between them directly from the chat.

Requirements

  • OpenCode installed
  • Node.js 18+
  • At least one GitHub account with Copilot enabled (Student Pack works)

Setup

1. Install the plugin

npx hot-oc-plugin

This installs the plugin globally and registers it with OpenCode automatically.

2. Restart OpenCode

3. Add your first account

Inside OpenCode, just say:

"Add a Copilot account"

The plugin will open GitHub in your browser and show you a code to enter. Log in as the GitHub account you want to add, enter the code, and authorize it. Once done, tell OpenCode you're finished and it'll save the account automatically.

That's it.

Managing accounts

Everything is done through chat — just ask naturally:

| What you say | What happens | |---|---| | "Add a Copilot account" | Start adding a new account | | "Switch to friend1" | Switch the active account | | "Which account am I using?" | See all accounts and which is active | | "Rename account 2 to work" | Rename an account | | "Check my accounts" | Validate every token, flag any that are revoked | | "Remove account 2" | Remove an account |

Notes

  • Tokens are stored at ~/.config/opencode/hot.json (owner-read-only)
  • The GitHub token is long-lived but the internal Copilot bearer token it generates expires every 30 minutes — OpenCode handles the refresh automatically
  • Student Plan Copilot works fine
  • If a token gets revoked, "check my accounts" will surface it — then remove and re-add

As far as I'm aware, using OpenCode with the models provided through the GitHub Student Plan is probably the best way to use the best models and limits that money can't buy. There may be better hacks out there — ping me if you know one.
