htmlbin-cli

CLI for htmlb.in — upload and share HTML files as stable, namespaced public URLs: https://htmlb.in/<username>/<filename>.html.

Install

npm i -g htmlbin-cli

Requires Node.js ≥ 18.

Quickstart

# interactive login (or: login --token <static-key> for agent mode)
htmlbin login

# upload — prints the public URL on stdout
htmlbin upload demo.html

# overwrite a file in place (same URL); warn on overwrite, silence with -f
htmlbin upload demo.html -f

# upload from stdin (--filename required)
cat demo.html | htmlbin upload - --filename demo.html

Commands

Every command accepts --api-url to point at a dev instance; config overrides (highest wins): CLI flag → HTMLBIN_API_URL / HTMLBIN_TOKEN env vars → config file ~/.config/htmlbin/config.json (0600) → default https://htmlb.in.

Exit codes: 0 success · 1 usage/IO error · 2 API error · 3 not logged in.

Notes

Uploads replace the content of an existing filename in place — the URL never changes, and upload warns on stderr (suppress with --force). Viewing pastes executes arbitrary HTML/JS in the browser: only open links from people you trust, and use the /raw URL to inspect a paste without executing it.
