Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

HTTP Client MCP Server

A specialized Model Context Protocol (MCP) server designed to help AI assistants (like Claude) explore, search, and read codebase repositories and API specifications efficiently.

Prerequisites

Installation

Available Tools

1. search_content

Search for keywords or regex patterns inside files.

  • keyword: The pattern to search for.
  • file_extension: (Optional) Filter by file type (e.g., ts, go).

2. read_api_spec

Read large files with optional line range support.

  • filepath: Path to the file.
  • startLine/endLine: (Optional) Specific lines to read.

3. read_specific_endpoint

Extract a specific endpoint and method from an OpenAPI spec or Markdown doc.

  • filepath: Spec file path.
  • endpointPath: e.g., /v1/users.
  • method: e.g., get.

4. list_directory

List files in a directory (ignores node_modules, .git, etc.).

5. search_files

Quickly find files by name.
