Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Installation

npm install -g httpiq

Usage

Simply run:

httpiq

Language Switching

  • Default language: English
  • Switch language: Press Shift+Tab at any time before starting a quiz
  • Language persistence: Language setting is not saved between sessions (always starts in English)
  • Available languages: English (EN) and Japanese (日本語)

Quiz Modes

Difficulty Levels

  • Beginner (5 questions): Common status codes you see daily
  • Intermediate (10 questions): Developer-focused status codes
  • Advanced (20 questions): Rare and specialized status codes

Question Types

  • Code → Meaning: Given a status code (e.g., 404), select its meaning
  • Meaning → Code: Given a meaning (e.g., "Not Found"), select its code

Development

Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/yourusername/httpiq.git
cd httpiq
npm install

Run in development mode:

npm run dev

Build the project:

npm run build
